Yin Yoga Teacher Training March 2026
After teaching this training once before, I’m even more inspired and grateful to be offering it again. The first training was such a meaningful experience, and it helped me refine and deepen the way I share Yin, the theory behind it, and the creative ways we can explore the practice together.
Yin has been a part of my life for many years and has helped me more than any other type of yoga. Through Yin, I’ve moved through deep periods of grief and letting go, into growth, healing, and experiencing life in new ways. It has helped me heal my body and mind, and mend my heart.
During this weekend together, we will explore Yin classes, fascia, and the Five Elements from Traditional Chinese Medicine. We’ll get to know the meridians more deeply and learn how to create meaningful Yin classes (and so much more). It may sound like a lot of theory, but I promise there will also be plenty of time to play, explore, and learn in creative ways that help bring the theory to life.
This is what the weekend will offer:
Take a deeper dive into the art of teaching Yin Yoga. This March, Penelope Persson will lead a 20-hour training that explores the foundations of Yin Yoga, the Five Elements Theory from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), key anatomical principles, and the skills needed to sequence and develop your own unique teaching style.
Yin Foundations
Explore the roots and history of Yin Yoga, its journey to the West, and why this slow, meditative practice has become so widely embraced.
Five Elements Theory & Yin–Yang
Gain an introduction to TCM, the Five Elements, and how they relate to Yin Yoga—deepening your understanding of energy, balance, and the body–mind connection.
Meridians
Learn about the meridian system as taught in TCM and how these energetic pathways relate to the long, still holds characteristic of Yin Yoga.
Anatomy
Understand what makes each body unique. Discover functional anatomy principles that help you guide students toward their individual alignment rather than a one-shape-fits-all approach.
Sequencing
Develop your skills in teaching Yin Yoga and learn to design thoughtful, purposeful, and inspiring class sequences.
Finding Your Teaching Style
Uncover your unique voice as a teacher. Identify your strengths, clarify your focus, and cultivate the confidence to create classes that truly resonate.
A comprehensive workbook is included.
